From tango in Argentina to the volcanoes of Nicaragua, the Americas caught me off guard—in the best way possible.

South America

South America always felt like the edge of the world to me. It wasn’t that I didn’t dream of going—it just felt so far away that it didn’t even cross my mind as a possibility. But last year, I somehow ended up in Argentina, my first taste of this massive, beautiful continent. Buenos Aires? It’s all tango in the streets, dulce de leche on every menu, and a vibe that makes you want to linger. And Patagonia? Let’s just say I’m a mountain snob, but Patagonia lives up to it.

Central America

Central America wasn’t supposed to be a destination—it was just a stopover between Argentina and Canada. But Nicaragua had other plans. I spent my time hiking volcanoes I didn’t think I’d survive, wandering through pastel-colored streets in Granada, and sipping coconuts by the lake like I’d been living there for years. It was short and unplanned, but honestly? Sometimes those are the best trips.
