Sri Lanka

Best Time to Visit

Sri Lanka has a tropical climate, which means it’s hot and humid year-round. However, the weather patterns vary depending on the monsoon season.

Peak Season

The peak season in Sri Lanka is from December to March. During this time, the south and west coasts of the country experience the best weather, with plenty of sunshine and low humidity. This is the perfect time to hit the beach and enjoy the crystal-clear waters. Popular resorts like Hikkaduwa and Mirissa are at their most idyllic, but also busiest.

Off-Season

The off-season in Sri Lanka is from May to September. This is when the country experiences the Yala monsoon season, which brings heavy rains to the south and west coasts. While it may not be the best time to hit the beach, it’s a great time to explore the cultural and historical sites of the country. The rains also make the countryside lush and green, making it a great time for hiking and trekking.

April and March are transitional months between the two monsoons and are generally considered good times to visit Sri Lanka. September is also a good time to visit the east coast of the country, as it experiences the best weather during this time.
