Cambodia
I turned 30 on Koh Rong Samloem, three weeks into a trip across Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and the islands. Temples, island time, and some of the kindest people I’ve met anywhere.
The history isn’t tucked away either. The Khmer Rouge killed roughly a quarter of the country’s population within living memory. I spent 30 hours on a podcast about the Khmer Rouge, then stood in Tuol Sleng and the Killing Fields. Bone chilling doesn’t quite cover it.
This is my little collection of everything I’ve written about Cambodia so far.
